La Gomera - Puerto de la Cruz

What's included?
Tour details
Tenerife has its charm, but if you want to see what the Canary Islands are like without crowds or large resorts, it's worth crossing over to the neighboring La Gomera. Quieter, greener, more intimate. An island that doesn't try to please everyone, and precisely for that reason, it leaves such an impression.
Ferry Crossing
We arrived on the island on a modern ferry from Fred Olsen. The crossing itself is part of the day; it's not just the journey.
Hermigua Valley and Aloe Plantation
The visit begins in the Hermigua Valley, one of the greenest areas of the island. Along the way, we pass by banana, papaya, and avocado plantations, small villages, and landscapes very different from those seen from a hotel balcony in Tenerife. In the valley, we visit an aloe plantation: you can learn more about this plant, see how it is cultivated, and, in the meantime, buy local products.
Garajonay National Park
One of the most unique places on this route. A laurel forest declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, humid, green, and sometimes shrouded in mist. It feels like another era and has a different atmosphere from anything you can see in Tenerife. Many ancient legends of the island are also associated with Garajonay.
Lunch and Silbo Gomero
The program includes lunch at a local restaurant with typical Canarian dishes, wine, and dessert. On this occasion, there will be a demonstration of Silbo Gomero, the traditional whistled language declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. It is a unique way of communicating over distances, passed down in La Gomera from generation to generation.
San Sebastián de La Gomera
The visit also includes the capital of the island. This is where Christopher Columbus stopped in 1492 before setting sail for the New World. The program includes the Casa de Colón and the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption.
